    OK. I have to ask....

What's the appeal of the Turner Diaries?

Not only does it not quite "fit" with the rest of your list, you also mention it twice.

I'm morbidly curious more than anything else.

hi morbid! honestly, i found it extremely thought provoking. rather like the movie crash- which is funny because crash got such copious praise and the turner diaries gets such a bad wrap. i'm not into people who are so knee-jerky about racism that their political correctness supercedes their intellectual exercise. i believe one can have an accurate moral compass and still process complex and indelicate issues. in fact, i think it is often more racist (kind of closet racist?) to avoid any such issues under the guise of being offended. so, that's my story, and i'm stickin' to it.

oh, and i mentioned it twice because the person looking over my shoulder when i was typing was full of unrighteous moral indignation that i not only read the book, but would say so in public, and without apology...so, i figured what was irritating to say once was even better to say twice. for the record, that is also why the count is messed up and there is no #13. people who are too easily irritated over nothing deserve to be irritated over nothing.
